I am not even sure if this weekend is officially called "Presidents weekend" or what the deal is...but I think that's how I'm supposed to say it? Maybe not...but last Weekend Skylei talked my mom & mark to take us girls up to Springdale and Zion's for the weekend.
So we quickly packed, stopped in hurricane and loaded up on treats, (If you want to try the best treat of your life, I HIGHLY recommend 'Australian Green Apple Licorice.' It is to DIE for.) got somewhat comfy between all of our crap. Examples:
blankets/pillows
Marquelle's big ol' laptop & fancy camera
Backpacks
Eventually we made our way up to Springdale. (I've come to love that little town lots) We drove up through Zion's and stopped at "The Narrows" and did a little hiking. Once we realized we have walked that path before, we turned around, found the truck and headed to dinner haha. Obviously we are a very outdoorsie family ;)
We had dinner at THE CUTEST little pizzeria. It's called "Pizza and Noodle Company." We ordered the Focaccia pizza, and BBQ chicken of course. Both were fab!
We made our way back to the lodge and played poker with life savers as chips, and 21. Oh & of course Slap Jack, at which I DOMINATE at. Seriously! Ask JT ;)
The next morning we ate at 'Wildcat Willys.' I am so proud of myself too, because I tried an omelet for the first time. (eggs make me sick. like for reals. they smell weird and the texture grosses me out.) But I toughened up and ordered the egg and I cant even tell you how glad I am that i did. It was AMAZING. it had green peppers and ham. ( and i dont even like ham!) but it was seriously SO GOOD.
Anyways after breakfast we explored Grafton (an old ghost town on the outer skirts of Springdale) and The old Grafton cemetery. It was so cool and creepy at the same time.
After our exploring time, we drove through West Zion's. seriously some of the prettiest views. Most of the snow had melted and we were lucky to make it to the top of the mountain! Good thing we were in the hummer! It was so steep and the snow was all slush! To say the least, if we had been in the Miata, we probably would have made it up a quarter of the mountain and rolled backwards off one of the cliffs haha!
It was a fun weekend and some good quality time spent together as a family. I love Springdale and its the perfect little place to get away to!

Love Is In The Air... Part 2
Its been a crazy week so far and to top off all the craziness, Wednesday JT text me and said he had something to tell me and that it would be better to talk in person. And just like your average virgo, I started over analyzing the whole thing and was sure I was about to get "The Talk." You know that talk missionary's give their girlfriends prior to leaving for the MTC. They have to spend less time together, or break up. So I started preparing myself for either of the two and anxiously waited for him to get to my house after work.
As soon as he got there and we started talking, I asked what he had to tell me and he said "he'd better sit down.."
I was pretty much freakin' out inside at this point.
He then began to tell me that earlier in the day his dad had received a phone call from their Stake president, who had spoken to JT's mission head quarters in Uganda where the Mission President was asking if JT could come six weeks earlier from his original leaving date...
JT then took a deep breath and told me he said "Yes."
SO, instead of leaving May 29th, JT leaves for the MTC April 17th.
My initial reaction was 100% shock. Then I thought he was joking. I'm still trying to grasp the idea he is going to freaking Africa, but now he is leaving a lot sooner then he planned. A LOT sooner. I was glad I was sitting down.
5 minutes passed and I was still saying "wow.." Like I wasn't mad or upset at all..just shocked. All of it just kinda hit me. Like..JT is going to central Africa in 6 weeks. It's so surreal! Haha I couldn't be more proud of him for wanting to serve at all times, but I'm still in shock haha. It sucks we won't be spending that extra time together but this way he will be home sooner. (Well Hopefully! He keeps reminding me that it all depends on transfers and what not. I try not to hit him and keep telling myself he will be home earlier)
But at the end of the day, I know Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and we just have to trust that and have faith that everything will work out and it's all for a reason.
ANYWAYS,
In my last post I mentioned my valentines present from JT, but we weren't able to go due to windy weather, so we re -scheduled for Saturday!
Well we drove back to hurricane saturday and went on the Helicopter ride. It was seriously amazing! I felt like I was flying in a bubble! Haha!
I forget how beautiful Utah is. We truly live in the most beautiful place! It was definitely the best present I've ever received. My valentine did good!!! He put my homemade present to shame!!

Love Is In The Air
It's been a while since I've blogged & So many fun things have been going on that I thought this would be a good day to post about recent events.
I hope everyone had a lovely Valentines and got to spend some quality time with their special someone's :)
To start off my Valentines I drove to Diamond and decorated my Valentine's bedroom.
I found the idea on Pinterest and fell in love.
I cut out paper hearts and tied them to strings and hung them on JT's ceiling, and hung christmas lights along the walls.

I made him a Video of our past year together.
It won't upload for some reason so I'll have to try another day! I will try to post it on FB but hopefully i can get it to work on here! anyways...
But for my Valentines we surprised me with a MASSIVE teddy bear and cute balloons.
He then blind folded me and drove to my surprise. I seriously had no idea where we were going and when he stopped the car and took off my mask, All I saw was this massive mural on a wall that said
ZIONS HELICOPTER TOURS!
uhh....RIGHT??!
He freaking booked us a Helicopter Ride through Zion's.
It was too windy to fly so we weren't able to go Thursday but we are going today at 2 o'clock.
I am so freaking excited I can't even handle it.
Anyways, to kill time until dinner at Oscar's, we decided to go to Springdale early and shop!
how pretty is this town???
After walking the windy streets and going to different gift shops, we found the CUTEST little candy shop and bought the world's most delicious CHOCOLATE COVERED GUMMY BEARS, and JT got his Big League Bubble Gum and other treats! Dinner was delish as you can only expect at Oscars. Then we drove home and he walked into his surprise heart attacked room.
So that was our Valentine's in blog form! It was seriously the best day ever!
Anyways, Friday while babysitting Brit's babies, JT text me and said "it's here!" and I was like "Huh?"
and he said "My Call!!!"
Holy.Freaking.Moly. Is all I could think in my head.
He met me at Brits and played with us until it was time to go to Diamond and open up his call!
ITS HERE!!!
UGANDA KAMPALA MISSION
May 29th, my Lover Boy is leaving for the MTC and going to prepare to serve the people of Central AFRICA! I'm still in TOTAL shock! He is honestly going to be the best missionary! JT has the sweetest personality and is basically sunshine in human form haha He is the most genuine and kind person I know. He brought back the gospel to my life and I will forever be grateful. He is my greatest blessing and I couldn't be more proud and excited for him. The people of Uganda are so blessed to get him! He is going to do so much good because he truly does have the light of Christ in him.
I love him with all my heart and I know Heavenly Father and his companions are going to take the very best care of him!
