Here's the 411

So here's the update on Daddy Vegas...

Thursday, was a busy and rough day! I got to the hospital around 1 pm and Marsha (the coolest nurse here) had just barely inserted a "PICC Line." Its like an IV, but its a more permanent line that goes to the entrance of his heart, to give him all of his antibiotics and meds. Meanwhile, he had about five visitors come over at once and tried to talk to him, but Marsha had sterilized the entire room, so no one could come in. So dad just yelled at everyone from his bed and tried communicating to them all that way. I wish you could have seen the peoples' faces in the hall that walked by. This room is constantly in chaos and full of laughter.

At 1:45 they took him back to the "submarine." He came back around 4:30, and was met by Tiff. Tiffany has seriously been here every second that she can and is always calling for updates. She is heaven sent! She even got in bed with him tonight to warm him up! Now that is a dang good daughter!
Later on, more and more of his sweet friends & family came and visited. Another person who has been here constantly is my Uncle Jim, and his cute wife Heather! They are probably the closest people to my dad. They do SO much for him, and I seriously don't know what my dad would do without them. My dad always raves about my aunt Heathers cooking, and LOVES their cute kids!! He thinks Jake is the funniest boy alive, and teaches him all of his crazy sayings and songs!

JT and I ran errands for my dad Thursday and hung out in the hospital all night. After JT left, my dad kept telling me "You won't find a better person than JT" and I couldn't agree more. JT is the most layed back boy, and I am like stressed McGee during all of this. I couldn't be more grateful for JT and the fact that he is the most calm person alive during a crisis. Thursday night Dad kept sleep talking and went potty about 10 times.

Friday, he woke up not so happy and went off to hyperbarics. I guess it was "cold as toby's dog" and pretty rough. I came back around 6 PM and found Tiff and Ky in the room with the Kidney Doctor. Dad had just been diagnosed with a diabetic kidney disease. It isnt bad enough to be on dialisis yet, but if they don't start getting better with the antibiotics, he will go onto kidney dialisis.
(you can imagine his spirits at this news.)
He isn't the happiest camper right now, and is making fun of all the "ugly dogs walking around" as I am typing this. If you know him, or his family...you will know what that means. If you don't know what a "dog" is, I'm not going to say. haha!

Anyways, Ky is going to stay the night tonight and we will just keep hoping for some improvement.
Thank you for all of the prayers and kind words! We have gotten to hear and read some pretty funny stories about my dad and his friends, and he is grateful for everyone that has been part of his life.

Love this crazy dog!
